My Cattle Dogs are very important to me in ways I can't even express. They are big dogs in a moderate size body, which is nice as mine go everywhere with me. I would say they are not the dog to get for the first time dog owner as they are A LOT of dog. They are very intelligent, loyal, funny, great at whatever they do, easily trained and clean. They demand a lot of time and entertainment from their owners. You could call them masters at controlling you, sometimes you wonder who is training who. I don't feel that there is a better breed for an all around versatile performance dog. I love my Borders and my Rats but the Acd's have my true heart and soul. I recommend them for people that have time and experience with dogs AS THESE ARE A LOT OF DOG. Once you have one you will be hooked but please take the time to get a good one from a reputable breeder as temperament, soundness and testing is very important.
